My family and I have been traveling to Disney for years, it is where I conducted my first co-op internship and lived in Florida for five months during Undergrad. It is also where Franco and I scheduled a private photoshoot at Magic Kingdom for our pregnancy announcement while I was 20 weeks pregnant with Luciano. Walt Disney World has a special place in our heart and is truly the most magical place on earth.
This year, we have visited Walt Disney World twice during the pandemic with precautions. These are seven essentials I pack for every Disney trip when traveling to Orlando, FL.
- Crossbody or belt bag is perfect when traveling with kids and walking all day in the Disney parks. These crossbody and belt bag options are small enough to carry items and also ride the attractions. It can fit a small wallet, chapstick, earpods, and hand sanitizer.
- Sunglasses are needed with the Florida heat, I would recommend polarized sunglasses to help reduce the glare from the sun and it also reduces harmful effects from UV light.
- Sneakers or small platform sandals that you can endure walking for 14+ hours within the parks is very needed. While visiting WDW, the days are extremely long waiting in lines and walking throughout the parks, it is important to wear a comfortable shoe.
- UV Sunblock for adults and children is an absolute must especially during the summer months. The sun is very strong in Florida and we constantly reapply every on our son Luciano so he does not get sunburn. The Elta MD SPF 50 is for all skin types and dermatologist recommended. It has zinc oxide in it that is a natural mineral compound that works as a sunscreen agent reflecting the UVA and UVB rays. I use Babyganics sunscreen SPF 50 on my son, it is also a mineral sunscreen that is non-allergenic and tear free.
- Travel with a reusable water bottle for adults and kids, you can refill inside the parks and it will keep your drinks cold through out the duration of your day. I travel with my Yeti rambler during my travels to keep my beverage cold and also carry my son’s stainless water bottle to keep him hydrated.
- It has become a tradition over the years to purchase new Mickey ears while we are visiting the Disney parks. There are new themed Mickey ears through out the seasons and I love matching my Mickey ears with my outfit while we are visiting the parks.
- The weather in the evenings can become very cool in Florida and would recommend bringing a jean jacket in case the temperature changes while you are visiting the park. The embellished denim jacket is oversized, has pearls, and is distressed. It is a cute option to dress up a casual outfit and also snap a candid photo.
